Has Anime Affected You In Real Life?

Published September 21, 2015 by Shay Taree

So what I mean here is has anime ever made you feel in such a way that it has made you think or do something different in your actual life.

For me I can honestly say that it has. It may not be anything super crazy or awesome but it’s still something that is special to me.

One of the things that anime has done is it has made me in someways more confidant in myself. This isn’t saying that other factors weren’t involved but anime was definitely apart of them.

Anime also made me put a lot of things in perspective. Some were simple like putting my family first

and enjoying my friends.

But another was jut simply enjoying the time I have now and not worrying about things that haven’t happened yet.

But those are only a few of the ways that anime has affected me and I’m sure that there will be many more.

So know I extend the same question to all of you. Has anime ever affected you in your real life? This could be anything from making you want to do something to just making you feel a different way. I can’t wait to read your comments.

  • Awesome topic. I was just thinking about it yesterday. I would say that it has opened my mind to understand new things. Since the anime story’s are so crazy sometimes, you need an open mind to get the story. It also gave me confidence to try new stuff. I noticed that it also helped me to stand up for the right thing and not be passive. I think I’m a better person for watching anime.

    • Thank you for commenting and I definitely have to agree. Watching anime has helped me to stand up for things and also be able to try new things too.

    • Lol yeah I’m not going to lie there are times where I start to take on the personalities of certain characters especially when it’s a show I really like or have been watching for a while.

  • mangas that show bullying, those mangas that have lame , doormat main characters…… even though they’re just ” mangas ” , I’m disturbed that some fans are okay with that kind of behavior… lbecause the guy’s hot, he’s allowed to be obnoxious.

  • While I can’t think of an exact example where it has, I’m sure it’s had an influence on me subliminally. I do think that it has opened my horizons more and made me more accepting and open to trying new things and having new ideas, every anime is just so dynamic and different it’s amazing! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Nice topic you brought up. Anime did change my perspective on the real world. For example, when reading/watching Naruto, Kishimoto really put an emphasis on the views of war. I already knew that war is very dangerous to everyone but he really described it as sad and terrifying. Not only the warriors suffer but the innocent people are caught in the middle and suffer the most. There are other examples of anime but Naruto was the one in my head.
