I recently read an article where about an anime convention in Milwaukee where because of this anime convention and anime in general it was able to cross racial barriers. This anime convention was able to desegregate a community which is something that even most government programs are unable to do.
The article even went on to mention how anime conventions bring people together under every culture, racial background, and financial background all because everyone there loves anime.
After reading this article it got me thinking about how true this really is. Anime has a way of bringing everyone together no matter what someone’s background is. It also has a way of teaching all of us something whether we knew it would or not.
I know that anime has definitely taught me to be more open minded and nicer to others. It’s taught me to reach out to others and also to reach for all my dreams no matter how far. Anime has taught me so much and also has connected me to so many different people that I never would have connected to.
Even with the people I’ve met through WordPress, YouTube, or Twitter I definitely wouldn’t have met them if it wasn’t for our love of anime and wanting to share it with others.
That is how I feel about this and this is one of the many reasons that I’m so happy to be an anime fan!
Now for my fellow readers of my blog. What do you think of this topic, what has anime taught you, and are you happy to be an anime fan? Comment down below on what you think about this. I can’t wait to read it!
As many of you know I have subscriptions to several different streaming sites where there is anime and I want to discuss the pros and cons for all of them.
Pros: Even if you don’t have a subscription you can still watch shows on here but you just have to wait a week after the original air date to watch. I definitely used to use this when I didn’t have the money to have a subscription.
Cons: As someone who is a fan of dubs I just wish they had more anime that was dubbed. They have a few anime’s dubbed on there but definitely not enough.
Pros: Once again even if you don’t have a subscription you can still watch some shows. If you do have a subscription then you have access to every show that Funimation has on the site as well as extras. These extras could be panels at conventions to cast commentary on shows. Plus you also have access to the dubs if it is available.
Cons: I’ve noticed while using the streaming service that there are times where it will just stop working. Maybe this just happens to me but it can suck when your in the middle of watching a show and the services says streaming not available.
So I’m going to put Hulu and Netflix together since they are both very similar with their streaming services.
Hulu & Netflix:
Pros: Both services have more than just anime so you and everyone in your family or friends can enjoy a variety of shows.
Cons: Sometimes the shows don’t have the entire seasons of a show so if you want to watch the 2nd season you have to go hunting for it somewhere else.
Alright now for me my favorite ones to go to are generally Hulu and Funimation. This is because I notice that a lot of the shows I tend to watch Funimation has but also Hulu because of Funimation decides to stop working Hulu usually has the show I’m looking for.
But out of the ones I’ve mentioned which one(s) would you be willing to try or already use. Comment down below with what you think!
As I’m sure everyone knows Pokemon has just announced a new Pokemon game titled sun and moon. Many people me included is very excited about the new game.
But now because of that it got me thinking if another anime could become popular or stand the test of time like Pokemon has. I know that many have tried like for example Digimon
but to me it just didn’t have the staying power like Pokemon did. Nor did it seem to span so many different types or merchandise like Pokemon did.
Now before many of you start to mention Dragon Ball Z as an anime that is quite popular and has stayed popular that is true.
But Dragon Ball Z while staying popular I haven’t seen a huge uproar when new products are released like I seem to hear with Pokemon.
Dragon Ball Z to me has more of a nostalgic aspect to it then Pokemon does. Maybe it’s because Pokemon is still on TV and airs during a nice little time slot compared to other anime’s.
So back to the question! Do you think another anime could be popular like Pokemon and my answer is probably not since any anime that comes out similar to it will be compared to Pokemon. It would have to take a great anime and game combo to be able to de-throne Pokemon.
But what do you all think? Comment down below with your opinions. I can’t wait to read them!
