Admitting Your An Anime Fan!

Published February 12, 2016 by Shay Taree

How do you let someone know your an anime fan? Are you someone that wears it proudly or someone that doesn’t mention it unless the conversation calls for it?
I’ll be honest for me I don’t exactly mention it to people unless it’s needed. This isn’t to say I hide it because I definitely don’t since I have anime t-shirts and other merchandise that people can clearly see.

It’s also not something that I hide because I’m ashamed of it.

I love anime and I love being a fan of it. I think it’s a wonderful art form and way to escape the realities that is life. But it’s not something I exclaim to the world every chance I get, but hey if someone mentions an anime show I just may speak up hehe.

But anyway for me anime is just on the many things I like so yes it’s definitely something I will proudly say I like when someone asks me about it. For example if a conversations starts concerning my awesome Sailor Moon shirt I’m wearing yay!

So how do you admit your anime fan? Are you like me and only really mention it when you feel the conversation warrants it or are you someone that tells someone no matter what the conversion? Comment down below and let me know. I can’t wait to read your comments?

  • Personally, I tend to wear/carry subtler (mostly) anime merch (key chains, jewelry, t-shirts with stuff only fans would recognize) so that the topic’s open for other fans but it doesn’t get in the way and be obnoxious when I’m around folks who just don’t care. Best of both worlds that way. 🙂

  • I usually wear what I love. I have t-shirts my anime like Fullmetal Alchemist and Bleach. If someone mentions anime, I just jump right in. Sometimes I just muster up the courage and ask “do you like anime”.

      • Yes I also have to agree. There is something about nostalgic anime that gets a conversation started sometimes.

      • Yeah totally. I see nostalgic anime like classic Saturday cartoons. We grew up watching them as kids and when people put them as fashion, it brings up memories. I guess that’s why I get excited when see someone wearing a DBZ shirt lol.
