Attack On Titan Part 2 Live Action Review!

Published October 28, 2015 by Shay Taree

Alright so just like I promised I went and watched part 2 of the Attack On Titan Live Action movie. Check out my YouTube video with my review also here:

But let’s get on with the review!

So let me just say that the whomever decided on the route they decided to take in this movie definitely fell off a cliff at some point. That is because they decided to make up their own ending which is perfectly fine but what they decided to come up with just did not make sense and completely took away from the original story line.

There were too many moments that didn’t make sense. Plus like I mentioned before they tried to put wayyyy to much romance into the live action.

The other thing that bothered me was the sub characters in the show since some were likable but many of them were just kind of mean or lame. I also could tell which ones were from the actual anime or were just made up for the live action. Also to top it off there is no Annie in this live action which totally sucks because I was waiting on see Annie and the female Titan.

Overall it just got really weird to watch with the different elements that were thrown in. To me they could have followed the story line better and even if they did come up with their own ending it definitely could have been better. So that is my review of the Attack On Titan live action part 2.

Comment down below on what you thought of part 2 of this movie of you saw it. If you didn’t see it then let me know of you will or why you won’t. I can’t wait to ready your comments.

What Anime’s Would You Show Your Kids?

Published October 26, 2015 by Shay Taree

So for those of you have kids or even though who don’t I was wondering what anime you would show your kids to introduce them to anime?
Now I got the idea for this topic because I saw the same topic in the MAL forums and it got me to thinking.

I think that when I have kids I would probably show them the anime’s that I liked as a kid that got me interested in anime. So that would be anime’s like Sailor Moon,

Dragon Ball Z,

& also possibly Yu Yu Hakusho.

But what about everyone else? What anime would show your kids if or when you have them? Comment down below your answers I can’t wait to read them.

Death Note Live Action Lead Casted….Possibly.

Published October 23, 2015 by Shay Taree

So as many of you may know or may not know Warner Bros in the United States has been planning to do a live action of the hit anime series Death Note.

Well I was reading through my news feed and realized that they have actually just casted the lead for the live action. They decided to cast Nat Wolff

who was a lead character in A Fault In Our Stars and also the movie Paper Towns. From what I read they were in the final negotiations.

Now I don’t know how I feel about this. I mean I think he’s a great actor but I wonder how his take on Light Yagami

is going to be. I think it will be interesting to see.

Now I know that live action anime’s have a bad reputations but will anyone see this live action? I’m still on the fence but what about everyone else. Comment down below on what you think.

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 Review!

Published October 21, 2015 by Shay Taree

Alright so while I was sick with a cold I was able to watch a little anime so I decided to watch Tokyo Magnitude 8.0. It was actually a really good anime. If you like check out my YouTube video of this review here:

But here is the synopsis of the show:

“The premise of the project is the 70% possibility that a magnitude 7.0 earthquake will occur in Tokyo in the next 30 years. The anime depicts what would happen if an 8.0 earthquake took place.

The story centers on Mirai, a middle school freshman girl who goes to Tokyo’s artificial Odaiba Island for a robot exhibition with her brother Yuuki at the start of summer vacation. A powerful tremor emanates from an ocean trench, the famed Tokyo Tower and Rainbow Bridge crumble and fall, and the landscape of Tokyo changes in an instant. With the help of a motorcycle delivery woman named Mari who they meet on Odaiba, Mirai and Yuuki strive to head back to their Setagaya home in western Tokyo.”

So at first when I started watching this show I wasn’t a huge fan of the main character Mirai

but after putting myself in her shoes I didn’t mind her so much. Mirai actually starts off at the beginning series and throughout a good portion of it like your typical teenager who is always annoyed, can’t stand her parents or sibling, and wants to be left alone. But after the earthquake and while trying to navigate her way home with Yuuki (her younger brother) and Mari (the delivery lady they meet along the way) she starts to become more grateful for her parents and starts to definitely turn that attitude around. Overall she actually had the biggest character development during the series.

Yuuki

kind of stayed the same during most of the series but he did have those moments where he was protective of his sister. He also was the character always trying to make someone laugh and feel good. There was only once during the series that he actually got upset which was with an argument with his sister but even that didn’t last long.

Mari

was definitely the protector of the two siblings while trying to make their way back home. She made sure they were safe and actually treated them like her own children. You saw her during the beginning of the series in passing and during one interaction with Mirai and Yuuki but it wasn’t until the earthquake that she became a more pivotal character.

As far as music is concerned the opening theme song didn’t really appeal to me a lot but the ending song definitely did. Especially during the sad parts of the show is when it really hit home.

Now this show is definitely a tear jerker so you have been warned. Definitely keep tissues near by when watching this. So don’t be putting on makeup while watching the ending of this series.

Overall though this show really got me think on what I would do if I was in this same situation and as someone who live in “the earthquake state” this can definitely become real for me. But I give this anime a 9/10. This show had the elements that I like in a good tear jerker anime.

If you haven’t seen this show then definitely check it out. It’s available on Hulu and it’s only 11 episodes so you can get through this fairly quickly. If you have seen it let me know what you thought of this show. I can’t wait to read your comments!

The Appeal of Sci-Fi Anime!

Published October 19, 2015 by Shay Taree

So I’ve definitely seen my fair share of Sci-Fi anime but I’ve always wondered why people gravitate towards this genre of shows.
For me the main reason why I sometimes gravitate towards Sci-Fi anime shows is because of the plot involved and sometimes the futuristic aspect of these shows.

The two that I can definitely think about are Psycho Pass and Blue Gender. Both took place in a futuristic time period and both had a circumstance that really made you think.

Psycho Pass had the aspect of using the different parts of someone’s personality to determine if they are capable of committing a crime. This was interesting to see unfold since I as the viewer thought about what if something like this did happen? What is this was possible in the future? It was something both amazing but terrifying to think about.

Now Blue Gender had a different thing going for it where there were Aliens that had taken over Earth but there are people who had been frozen due to a disease that they had. The main character in the show was ultimately an asset to helping them beat the Aliens. But it was still something that made you think that maybe something that made someone different will ultimately be our only way of being able to survive.

Sci-Fi anime’s have a way of pulling the viewer into worlds that are both terrifying but also interesting to see. Plus at least for me it’s a great way to escape reality and focus on something else for a while.

But if you watch Sci-Fi anime why do you watch it? What makes it appeal to you? If you don’t watch Sci-Fi anime then I say give at least one a try. Now if you have and didn’t like it also tell me why you didn’t. I would love to know! Can’t wait to read your comments.

Rurouni Kenshin Anime Review!!!

Published October 14, 2015 by Shay Taree

Alright so today I’m reviewing the anime Rurouni Kenshin! Omg this show was really good and even though I watched this awhile back I still watch it over and over again.

Oh and I also made a YouTube video of my review as well so check that out here

But anyway here is the synopsis:

“Himura Kenshin is a vagabond with a dark past and sunny disposition. Not a ronin but a rurouni, he was never a samurai, but an assassin of utmost skill in the Meiji restoration, who in the turning point of the war simply walked away. His travels lead him to Tokyo in the 11th year of the Meiji era, where he befriends a female Kendo master, a former thief, a brawler and a doctor all with their own secrets. Together they fight off the enemies surfacing from the dark past that Kenshin cannot escape. ”

This anime overall was a joy to watch and honestly made me want to pick up a samurai sword even though I would probably hurt myself in the process.

Rurouni Kenshin also kind of has a little bit of something for everyone. It has some romance in it and while it’s not blatantly obvious there is always a character that is pointing it out.

The art style is a little older looking since this anime did come out in the late 90’s I believe so it may take some getting used to.

As for the opening and ending songs well I’ll be honest I didn’t enjoy them but hey that’s just me.

So definitely check out Rurouni Kenshin if you haven’t already. If you have seen comment down below and tell me what you thought of it.

Is Being A Nerd/Geek Now Trendy

Published October 12, 2015 by Shay Taree

Now some people may get mad since I’m using the term nerd or geek but hey I don’t mind the term and I definitely embrace my nerd or geek side.

But the reason why I thought of this topic is because I saw the coverage of New York Comic Con on TV and it got me thinking that things have now changed with how geeky or nerdy things are viewed.

Yeah there are some things that could change in this realm like anime being more mainstream but I feel like everyone is try to be nerdy or geeky. I guess I notice it with the fashions that are now out and also with the glasses that are now in trend.

I kind of think it’s awesome that people are embracing things that are geeky or nerdy but I still find it strange that all of sudden it’s kind of in trend to be nerdy.

But what do you guys think of this or have you noticed that being geeky or nerdy is now a trend. Comment down below with what you think. I can’t wait to read you comments.
